The Weekend and this Weekend

I want to start by saying, I had no idea it would take me this long to post again. Our weekend went well and we were able to see everyone that we wanted to see. My uncle David met my wife and my son for the first time. He lives in California and was in town and able to meet us at my grandparents for a quick visit.

My mother and aunt are doing great and enjoyed the time they got to spend with my son. I cooked for them Sunday night and I still feel sorry for the amount of time it took to cook. I cooked for them, stuffed chicken. I took a chicken, stuffed it with lemons, oranges and garlic. Under the chicken were potatoes and carrots and I must say, it turned out rather well. I asked my mom though, how long it took to cook a chicken. She said one and a half hours, but my mom also thought I was talking about a small chicken, perhaps even just the breast. I knew the entire time I was talking about a roasted chicken, the one we bought was 6.77 pounds. It ended up taking about 3 hours to cook, maybe even longer. I must admit though, the chicken was well worth the wait, but eating at 9:30pm is something none of us were use to.

The wife and I returned home about 7:30pm Monday night and I made a chef salad for the two of us. It was good to be home and just relax. How odd it is I think that after a vacation of sorts that you are always glad to be home so you can relax. I thought being relaxed was what you do when on vacation.

Tuesday and Wednesday were normal days for us and I cooked as always each night when my wife returned home. I made deer steaks and fish for my wife and she actually liked it. The deer steaks were a tad to game tasting for her but she really liked the fish. Next time I will have to do something different to the deer to make it not so gamey.

NFL Championship games are this Sunday and I have no idea who I like. I got my butt kicked this past weekend with the Colts losing, the Bears showing no defense and the Redskins playing like the team that didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs. The Broncos are favored by 3 over the Steelers and the Seahawks are favored by 4 over the Panthers. Who will I take and who will make it to Super Bowl 40, I don't have a clue. Hopefully with a few more days of thinking I will find the winning teams. Maybe I will just have to flip a coin.

Good Morning & Good Day

I finally found a place to post random thoughts about absolutely nothing. Thanks again in part to Google for helping me to find Blogger.com I have been a member of Blogger.com and today I found the desire to see what this site is all about. I curious to see who among the faithful, will be first to post a reply. I have my money on a brother or uncle. Time will only tell and if your not looking, not even that well.

Super Bowl Set and Koby turns 81

Steelers keep on bringing on the good luck, the power to win and the dream of a Super Bowl Ring! Panthers left their playing abilities back... well... I'm not sure where they left their skills. They simply forgot to show up. So that leaves us with the Seahawks and Steelers in the Super Bowl. You find anyone to tell you they picked these two teams to be in the Super Bowl, listen well to anything else they may tell you about sports. Sticking to sports, Koby scores 81 points. 81! Second only to W. Chamberlin's 100 points back in 1962. What can you say about sports, it's never what you think it will be and almost always more than you can imagine. Gotta love Sports. Till next time, Don't Eat the Yellow Snow.

Waking to Find It's Friday

I've never had a normal job, I work nights and always Friday's & Saturday's. Though today was different, you see, I'm on vacation. I have the entire month of January off and I have been staying home and connecting with my three and half month old son. My wife is a school teacher and unlike me, has to work the month of January. Monday is a holiday for most people and we are taking the holiday time to go see my parents. So I wake up today with this odd feeling, I knew something was different about today, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Then it hit me (Wham! {minus George Michael}) it's Friday! I have the entire weekend off and I'm not even working! My wife and I will share baby duties this weekend, but so will the grandparents. I mean, talk about your vacation, take your son to the grandparents, hand him off, sit back and watch the Colts destroy the Steelers. I think this could be the first time in years when I actually was excited it was Friday. I
